5,000 middle and high school students from across the world met in Denver, CO to show off their hard work. They competed in competitive events at the TSA, Technology Student Association, national conference. This included students from all around the world in most of the 50 states, Germany, and Scotland. There were many competitions that the students can choose from. In the Cyberspace Pursuit competition, students created their own website. In "On- Demand Video" students had to make a movie within 48 hours including the following things: The room key, the program guide, and the dialogue “I told you not to do that!” Another is the architectural model challenge, where you have to make a model of a building. Hamden TSA proudly brought back Finalists pins which you receive when you are in the top 10. This was TSA’s 31st annual TSA competition. One of the members from Hamden TSA, Marcus Harun, also the CEO of 24 News Now, said, “My favorite part was leadership activities, and meeting the other state presidents to discuss ideas.” The conference was from June 28, 2009 to July 2, 2009. Within these days they had their competitions to compete in, go to the General Sessions at 9:00 a.m. every morning, and have fun! Since Denver is the ‘Mile High City’ some teams went to the exact point of which to see where the exact mile is. Since next year’s TSA conference will be held in Baltimore, Maryland some students might go to the White House because the conference is only about 30 minutes away.
